I have a BVSS 6.5 x 284 Norma. The barrel says Model 12 and since it is a long action I am assuming the action is a 112. Anyway, I machined an aluminum V-block similar to the one Whidden sells, except it is for the long action. I left out the magazine, epoxied the V-block in the stock and shoot it as a single shot.

I am satisfied with the rifle and would like to build one very similar to it in 270 Winchester.

Which action would you choose for the new rifle? I want to get a Shilen 24" varmint contour barrel. I had thought one of the new target actions would make the choice of stocks easier, but I am not sure about having to remove the bolt each time I want to remove a loaded round. I would use this rifle for hunting and shooting paper with.

I would try to find a Stephens 200 in 270. I have found them pretty low, especially at Academy Sports and Outdoors. Then, replace the stock, barrel, trigger, and recoil lug.

I built a .270 win on a standard long action 110. I picked up a stock from numrich cut out for Dbm and ordered the conversion parts from sss. I just like a Detachable mag. you are correct that long action, especially centerfeed long actions have limited stock choices. But if you are good at digging around, you can find what you are looking for.
