Hey guys, just wondering if I will have any feeding problems if I put a 7mm-08 barrel on my long action (25-06) donor.?

Shouldn't be any issues. I had a .243 on a 110 LA.

The 308W I made my son feeds perfect. It was a Steven 270 blind mag as a donor. Luck, Tim

I recently built my 7mm-08 on a long action w/o any problems.

As long as you use the 30-06 cartridge family magazine you are G2G

I fed a 260 from a staggerfeed long action, it worked great.

Thanks for the info guys, I didnt think it would be an issue but wanted to see what others thought before I tore my 25-06 apart. I'm putting this together for a upcoming bear hunt with my dad. He was going to use my 7 mag but the recoil was to much for him so I thought the 7mm-08 would be a lot nicer for him to use. Looks like I am going to go down in the man cave and get to work.! thanks again.!

7-08 is one sweet round. You may want to consider the. 284 Win as well.

Handled a factory Savage M14 Classic in 708 recently, very nice rifle.

The 7mm Mauser is an alternative and definately will work in a long action. Handloads will far surpase the factory loads with no problems as most factory loads are loaded to make sure ther are no problems in older model Mausers like the 93 and 96. It worked in a former 7mm mag action with no problems for me, just a bolt head change. Factory loads will be about the same as a 7mm-08 with 140 gr bullets.

At the most you might need a small amount of work with a file and needle-nose pliers, but you'll probably be fine as-is.
