barrel makers. looking for some ideas on price on a few barrels.
looking for 24" in a 308 for my Savage model 12
also looking for a 220 Swift for the same gun

Well looks like u may be in luck cuz the vendor gunshack will prob have a group buy for 30 cal barrels up next. They r shaw barrels. Not the best u can buy but for the price it better than factory.

How much do you want to spend on the barrel. I just ordered a Brux barrel muzzle break, and barrel fluting that cost me about $700. This barrel has a 10 week wait period; I won't expect a phone call about the barrel till the beginning of January. But that is the nature of a custom barrel.

There are a few venders on this forum that sell barrels. You can look on the venders page and see if they have any pre-fits in stock. If they do, you can forgo the long wait period.

Also, you can Shilen barrels from Midway if they have the barrel in stock.

type in prefit savage barrel in google or yahoo and you'll get a pretty decent list of suppliers. I used Lothar Walther but there are many other suppliers. Price can be as cheap of expensive as you want. Figure $300-400 for most of the better brand names.
