Very nice .. I appreciate your paicents . Unfortunatly .I'm a timber faller and framer .
I'm not tooled up for stock work . . And I don't have a shop .

Do you know what Savage model shares a simular action . . I'm thinking that if I started with most of the stock done and just tackled the magizine and trigger gaurd that may be a project I could handle. .
Thanks for your work posting all this . It All looks great !!

Beautiful work. Boyds sells laminated 3" x6" x36" blanks for $38.00. Ive been using furniture grade birch ply from home depot. 3/4 " .has worked for years,i usually get 6-8 target stocks outa each 4 x8 sheets.
Hope this helps,Gary

I use baltic birch plywood, 4 layers of 1/2" glued together, this gives me a 2 inch thick plywood, very solid (there is 9 layers of wood for each 1/2 inch of ply)

This comes in sheet of 60 x 60, the way I designed my stock I can fit 24 in the 60 x 60 sheet.

Is the same available in the states?

Probably. Check home centers, lumber suppliers, or ask a cabinet shop, there is a good chance they use it for drawer boxes

Nice, It is even left hand friendly! As a lefty, I hate custom's that have a rollover cheek and are selling cheap.

You do the bolt handle?

Sorry for not getting back,I use tite bond two. Have been doing this for over 20 years and have tried almost every glue.many moons ago it was nothing but polyester resin ( fiber glass resin ) now i only use titebond
I do moisten the wood with a spray bottle apply liberal glue in checkerboard pattern and use many clamps, let sit over nite. I do most of my inletting on the mill
Hope this helps, Gary
