Hi

Yes, I was lazy and I made the channel for the barrel 1.25 all the lenght. I have another jig here that I used on a savage to follow the small barrel, but I plan to swap barrel in the future, so I made the stock ok right now.

Last night I sanded/shaped my stock. Not pictured is the tip that I made rounder. I agree it's a lot of stock for such a small barrel, but hey, why not !

Thanks

In fact, I promised my wife a couple of pieces of furniture for the holidays, so I need to hurry and finish all my stocks (3 in the way right now)

hey just wondering what kind of training do you have? just practice, or did you go to some sort of school, or what? i suppose 1 could do this by trial and error but that could be costly not to mention very time consuming. anyhow i like the looks of the stock, i always assumed that there would really be more involved.

I learned woodworking at the Woodworking School of Québec. I've been working in the furniture industry for 10 years. When I bougth my first Lee Enfield it was sporterized and I made up a complete walnut woodset for it. It was 2 years ago. Now it kinda developped into a small business/hobby here.

Typical wood butchers cave. Looking real good. Never mind the stocks. Take care of the wife's wants first. And don't track sawdust into the house. ;)

I wonder, if ya hang some lights, balls, or tassle on one it would pass for christmas decorations so you could mail it to the states?

Hi

Today I worked on the stock. I made a spacer to feed the gun single-shot with a small aluminum strip, then I made a buttpad with a floor mat made of recycled tire (messy, but hey, why not) and I stained the stock an olive color. Here are the pics.

The aluminum spacer

Buttpad (yeah I know, the 3 holes don't quite align)

Messy stuff, but it does not stick to skin, a brush took care of that

Done !!

All I need now is one of those cheek-riser/storage bags to put on the stock.

I'll be getting a used barrel from a Savage 12 VLP in 223, with a 1:7 twist.

That is absolutely amazing. You could probably teach Norm Abram a thing or two. Good job, now lets see the next one!

Awesome craftsmanship. Probably the best if seen done in a laminate.
