Is H414 and Win 760 the same powder?

As far as I know they are one and the same. Wouldn't be a bad idea to contact Hodgdon and get a confirmation though.

H414 - W760 are made by St Marks powder in Florida, which is owned by General Dynamics Weapons Div. (They also own half of the Remington IMR powder line which is made in Canada)

They are both one in the same powder.

NOTE: Winchester does not make its own powder and it no longer manufactures its own brass.

Who do they sub it out to, then?

1. Go to Hogdons and read the MSDS sheet for their powders, the MSDS sheets have the "who" and "where" of manufacture.

2. St Marks makes the powder for Winchester, when Winchester lost the contract at the Lake City Army Ammunition plant to make the ammunition for the military they sold off the powder making plant (St Marks) to General Dynamics and also sold off their brass manufacturing plant (foundry) Winchester makes their own cartridge cases but they now buy the brass from someone else.

Lake City Army Ammunition Plant. ATK (Federal) now has the contract to make ammo for the Government.

Material Safety Data Sheets Remington powder (half the powder is made in Canada by General Dynamics, the other half is made in Australia by ADI who is owned by the French.

BigEd is correct.
They are the same powder from GD. Win has licensed it's namesake to Hodgdon for a while now.
As for Hodgy, with the possible exception of some of their black powder substitues; They DO NOT make their own powder either. As of right now, a lot of their powder is indeed made by ADI. However they have been known to bounce around with manufacturers a bit.
