I have an opportunity to purchase a Savage 11FHNS in 300 WSM. Questions:

1. Does it have a accustock? If so, does anyone (i.e. B&C, Choate, etc.) make an aftermarket varmint/tactical stock for this action?

2. Does it have a blind, removable or hinged magazine?

3. Will the magazine allow me to load heavier/longer bullets for distance work?

4. Would you pay $400 - $425 for this gun new?

Thanks!

11=short action
F = synthetic stock(probably not acu
H = hinged floor plate
NS = no sights
Plenty of aftermarket stocks for short action
Magazine standard cartridge length

Yes I would pay that if I was looking for one.

Being a WSM, odds are pretty good its a large shank action.

The current models of 11FHNS are part of the hunter series and include only the 223, 22-250, 243 and the 308 on the small shank. They are also AccuTrigger and AccuStock.

Are you sure it is not a 11FCNS that had the bottom metal changed or something like that?

I found out that it has an AccuTrigger, Accustock, center feed with hinged floorplate and large shank. I have an opportunity to get it new for about $425 after shipping and FFL fees.

Does anyone make a tactical/varmint stock that will support a short action with centerfeed mag and hinged floorplate? I may sell the barrel and stock and build a custom 300 wsm or 7 wsm.
