I shot my model 12 FVSS a little today. If I hadn't pulled #6 and #8 this would've been a good group, for me.

This a new load.

Maybe this will work, I was working on my breathing and finger position on the trigger.

Shot this one much?
The list of suggestions is going to be huge but for you I would,
- make sure you hold the gun the same everytime = stock & cheekweld
- breath easy and focus 90% of your attention on the trigger
- If shooting off a bipod push forward slightly to tighten up the legs, helps control the jump and I think is key to good groups off a bipod.
- I try to keep my finger very low on the trigger, a trigger is a lever, more leverage = less force required the farther you are from the hinge point.

For the loads,
- sierras look like they need a little more or less powder to get rid of the vertical
- vmax load looks like one to fine tune some.

Good luck, keep shootin.

Thanks AKShooter
I've shot maybe 125 rounds through the rifle, so no I don't have a lot of trigger time. The V-max load was worked up in .5 grain increments, then .005" increments off the lands. The load wound up being most accurate at the max charge and .020" off the lands. There was really no noticable difference in .015" to .020".
The Sierra bullet was loaded at max and .018" off the lands so i need to work on it. I wil load down .5 grain and up .5 and see what it does. Sierra lists 35 or 35.1 as max for the bullet, Hogden shows 36, but it's listed for 55 gr bullets in general.
I'm learning here as I have never shot rifles much, bows and shotguns were always my thing. The stock on this rifle is pretty poor, but I expected that from the start. i have a new stock ordered, it should be here in mid Feburary. I shoot off bags and if the front bag gets out past the barrel nut much the groups start opening up, even after epoxying a carbon arrow in the forend.
I'm just trying to get some trigger time before my shoulder surgery in early Decmber.

Your right on track with the junk Tupperware stock. I have a b&c medalist on my 12fv and love it. Hope ya don't mind some rambling but here's my 12fv experience.

My 12fv 1:12 twist has never liked varget. Low velocity and never could get it to clover leaf 5. Burning up the rest of mine as sighters, foulers and at steel @ 600yds for fun.

It loves ramshot big game,w760,h380 and rl15 though the latter is low on velocity and dirty. Just started playing with rl17 looks promising, 40 grains with 64 Berger ran 3500fps. Tried imr4895 a little but save it for my garand and m1a, shot ok the little I tried but would switch to h4895 due to my extreme weather in Ak.

Shot a few days ago, 55 sbk, 55 nbt and 52 smks all shoot in the .2s and .3s with a fine tuned load of big game, 9 groups, 3 different bullets, 3 different COL's, 38-40.5 grains charge weight, none shot bigger than an inch most where .5moa. Of course I know the range of powder it likes and the range of col it likes. Necked turned lapua brass is amazing. Look up powder valley for the best pricing on lapua brass, I ordered 400 cases haha.

Mine really doesn't mind jumping bullets, best group I've shot was standard 2.350 with 55nbt, generally though it likes them at 2.485 which is about .030-.035 jump on mine.

Mine has to have 1200+ rds and I'm still learning. Don't be afraid to try the slower powders for yours.
