Am I the only one on here that owns one? Curious about anyone else that has one and how there's is shooting.

leadzinger, Recently my girlfriend purchased a Model 10 Predator, in 260 Rem. After mounting an inexpensive Sightron 3x12 scope, on it, we took it out & she started shooting it. The first day, she put 70+ rounds through it. She is no "Match Shooter", by any means. That being said, she has shot numerous 1 1/2-2" groups with the rifle. She, also has shot two different groups(my handloads) in the 1/2-3/4"size. She is Very Happy with the rifle, & is looking forward to harvesting a deer this fall. Also looking forward to trying for some Coyotes this winter. I think it is a very nice rifle, & might just have to get one for myself! I don't think you'd be sorry getting one!

Thanks Idaho. They are shooters for sure! I bought the 110 version in 6.5x284 Norma back in August and haven't been able to find any other posts of folks on here that have one. Atleast they haven't posted a thread about them yet. Seems all the attention has gone to the Model 10 or LRH versions. It's my 3rd Savage I've bought and all of them are unreal shooters without any mods or crazy add-ons. I handload for all 3 and they drop whatever happens to be in the crosshairs at the time, every time.

Leadzinger, My first post, I didn't notice the "110". I think that your 6.5-284 should be a Very nice rifle-cartridge combo!!!! I've been very curious about the 6.5-284 now for a couple of years! I hope you get some replies here about that combination you have there! Good Luck, & keep some of us informed about how it's working out for you...... Idaho-45

No worries on the model numbers. It seems any acknowledgement of my post is welcomed, since nobody wants to fess up to owning one :D. I started looking at the 6.5x284 about 3 years ago after reading an article about it as a long range coyote eliminator. I'm looking at a 6.5 Creedmoor now in either the Model 10 or 12LRP. Curiosity is all, not really a necessity. Right now the 110 is shooting 3/4", 5-shot groups at 200yds. Lapua brass, 140gr Bergers, 49gr of H4831sc, Fed210M's, and .020" off the lands. Bushnell Elite on top. It's a shooter for sure!

Leadzinger, I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT NOBODY ELSE ON THIS BOARD WANTS TO ADMIT HAVING ONE OF THOSE 110 PREDATOR MAX1'S. I PERSONALLY THINK IT IS AN GREAT CHOICE! OR, FOR SOME STRANGE REASON, NO ONE IS BUYING THEM.......... IDAHO-45

I'm sure they sell alot of them, and there is no doubt that they are fine rifles and amazing shooters. THe reason not many on here are admitting to having one, is that most of the members rather than buy a specialty rifle like this would rather just buy the components and build the rifle they would like to have.

I just picked one up today in 260.I put together some loads this evening.I will shoot it tomorrow, weather permitting, and report back.I ordered the rifle without ever holding one first. No shops here in california had one.I've never had a bad savage.I'm excited.

All I can say is a 110 Predator Hunter in .260 is on my bucket list! I'm debating the 110 PH in .260 or something a little lighter like the Light Weight Hunter. Savage's website list the 110 at 8.5lbs and my current Win 70 in .30/06 lists at 7.5lbs, so I have to decide if I want to go +1lb up, or go lighter.

I shot the 260 today in kind of crappy windy conditions(for california).A couple of loads show promise.
I do have a couple observations so far.Savage knows what they are doing. The idea of the detachable box magazine scared me at first. How many times does the gun like bullets seated so they won't fit in the mag.Berger 130 vld bullets touch the lands at 2.930 col. They fit in the magazine with room for recoil.
The accutrigger is really pretty nice.I'll have to get used to it.Breaks nice and clean and pretty light out of the box.
Anyway I'll have more to report tomorrow.I have a couple more loads to test and maybe even chrono tomorrow.

As promised I went to the range yesterday in really nice calm conditions.I was testing the new 260 with Berger 130 VLD hunting bullets. When I got to the loads using VV n560 things really came together.I was able to put the first 3 into one ragged hole. Then number four went just a tad high and number five enlarged trhe first hole just a bit.
The load is 46 gr of VV N560 with a federal match primer and seated to just kiss the lands.
The gun also shot the 120 nosler ballistic tip with VV 150 really well.
Overall I'm really impressed with this gun right out of the box.

Been awhile since I checked the thread and am glad to see replies and those that have posted. Responses:
-Idaho:for those not buying, they're missing out!
-teebird:good observation, however, they aren't really a "specialty" item, as in super special grade, LEO, etc. They're available to all of us in the 2011 catalog and without a Cooper-like price tag. Cooper used for price comparison purposes only!
-csam:I'd suggest updating your Christmas list!
-Steve:buy it! You know you want to!
-digger:nice report! Folks don't know what they're missing.
It's hard to go wrong with buying a Savage in any caliber that fits your particular shooting needs! For years I always wanted to try a 6.5x284 and after reading another article in Shooting Times, I had to get one. Although not as known as the LRH, LRP, 12 F/TR, etc., the 110 Predator Hunter is just as accurate right out of the box. It has plenty of mag room to load to long VLD oal's. It's a bit heavy at 10lbs loaded, scoped, and bipodded but way better than an F class! Do some more pushups!

I have the 10 Predator Max in 243, likely the best gun that I have ever shot, at any price. 8)
