I just purchased a Savage 93r17 with the bull barrel , accu-trigger and the synthetic stock. I know I should have thought of this before I bought it but what power scope do you recommend for the 17 HMR. Also I cannot find a set of rings for these rimfire mounts on the barrel. I want to put a Tasco on it now and buy a better/recommended scope later. What scope and rings do you recommend?

I just got a 93R17 FV as well and am leaning towards the Mueller 8-32x44mm TacDot SF. Haven't decided on rings yet but going to get single piece scope mount. Probably DIP's 25 MOA. I am definitely going to be changing out the stock, looking at the Boyds Blaster and the SSS MTR. Here are some links for scope and mount:

The weaver Quad lock rings at Walmart for $10 are very well made and will be a good set for your .17. I have them on 4 of my rifles.

I just got standard Weaver high detachable rings and a Bushnell Banner Dusk and Dawn 4-12 scope. Could have went with medium rings, but sits good with my sightline. Got it for real cheap, but the recticle is a little thick. I prefer the Luepolds smaller recticle.

I probably won't buy another set of rings besides burris signature rings with the offset inserts. I only have them on one rifle but I'm in the progress of putting them on each of my rifles. A total of three more sets. As $$ allows It just seems silly not to use them. Necessary not at all. But extremely effective and if you can afford the $$$$ for them I would get them.
