Hi All,
I am looking for a rifle for CMP Rimfire work.
This rifle with the heavy barrel looks like the one.
Please give me your thoughts on this, I do appreciate your time.

Wayneo we have a member of our club that shoots an FV in CMP .Most of the time he shoots in the 575 to 590 range.I shoot a Model MKII-G that has been cut down to a 16.5in Barrel and I shoot in the540 to 560 range.I know he uses nothing but Wolf MT in it.So I think it will work fine for CMP. Ulus ;D

I have an FV model that is a real tack-driver. The only additions I've made are a bipod, cheek riser, and scope. I run Lapua Midas+ in it, and it usually gets around .4" groups at 50 yards all day long. Excellent rifle.

In the future I plan on dropping the action into an SSS tactical stock, and sending the stock/action to SavageGunsmithing for an accurizing package. I fully expect it to become a true one-holer after that operation.

In a nutshell, you've got an excellent starter platform for CMP. I say run with it.

Fellows,
Thank you for the great information!
What kind of glass are you running?
Thanks

The guy with the FV uses an Shooters Edge 6X18.He shoots it every now and then in USBR benchrest, and shoots in the high 220's.My MKII-G has a Tasco World class 4X16 on it .
So both can go down to CMP 6 power max. Ulus ;D
