SSS adjustable cheek piece removal

I'm about to start finishing my SSS LVT stock and I need to remove the adjustable cheek piece. Before I try it and screw something up, how do you remove the cheek piece?

Remove the butt pad with a phillips screwdriver. Remove the adjustment knob.
Tip the stock up so the clamp slides out the bottom. Remove the cheek rest.

Don't worry Dennis, I still haven't messed with the stock. I posted this question before I decide to sell the stock. :)
