I celebrated Veteran's Day today by sitting down with my kid for his first reloading session. I did the first round for each step, then stood behind him while he did the others.

It's 300 Win Mag, with a 180 grain Hornady interlock BTSP over 84 grains of Ireco 85 powder.

Sniff...My kid's first reloaded cartridge...sniff

They grow up so fast...

LOL! How true.

My son and I will be sitting down tomorrow night to reload some 8mm Mauser (8x57).

The rifle has been in the family for three generations now. My step grandfather traded for this rifle in the late 50's or early 60's. Passed through the hands of 7 of 10 of his kids, I shot my first deer with it, my younger brother shot his first deer with it, and now, with a touch of luck, my son will shoot his first deer with it.
