Edge cocking problem

I tried sharpshooter's fix. It helped for a while then started acting up again, The second time I polished the inside of the bolt nut with valve grinding compound on a 1/2" steel rod. Then reshaped the end of the spring, and polished it to a mirror finish with a knife sharpening paper wheel. No help. My next step is to sell the gun, and buy a model 25 Walking Varminter. I hope I have better luck with it. I should try deepening the notch, but I am running out of patients.

PROBLEM SOLVED. I called Savage, and told the gal my problem. Before I could try to talker into letting me trade the Edge in on a different model she said "send the bolt in". It came back in two week with a two piece spring. No washer between the pieces. I love Savage Customer Service.
