Just in case anyone wondered if Savage rifles were present in force @ F-Class events...

...including John Weil (2nd), John Chilton (5th), Darrell Buell (6th) and Mark Houseman (9th). 4 out of the top 10 F/TR... not too shabby!

Buell shoots a bone-stock (no bedding, no nothing) 12 F/TR; Weil shoots a 12 F/TR with an aftermarket cheekpiece and buttplate, Chilton has a 12 Palma wearing a 12 F/TR barrel (from the Savage 'custom' shop), not sure what all Houseman has done to his. Weil was shooting Berger 155.5BTs over 8208XBR from Lapua cases, and was making up ground hand over fist @ 1000yds despite some of the others (Rorer, Chilton) using heavier bullets like Berger 185 LRBTs. Sometimes its the Indian, not the arrow...

what i find most impressive is that these guys are using almost bone stock rifles, its really a testament to the ootb accuracy of savage rifles, ive only been in one shooting competition with my almost bone stock model 16 and placed in 4th out of 35 contestants, so i know that savage accuracy is no joke

savages with the right bullet /powder combo are some fine shooting rifles i have a ft/r match in a few hours and shoot a bone stock mod.12lrpv in 233 (300yard match) and will be in the open class with my tiger shark in 308 also bone stock . the guy at the range are begining to rethink savages 2 matches ago savages took 2,3,5,6,and 8th with 5,6,8th being my rifle (friends used it and they ony shot it once before).
