About two years ago I built my first Savage rifle. A model 12 varmint,223 with a 26" SS fluted factory barrel, for a stock I went to Numrich and bought the 12 ABT (Tiger Shark) and as soon as I got it I was sorry I did not buy two of them. The fit was perfect and for a bench gun the weight was not a problem.Numrich listed it as low quantities and when I went back on line they were out,but they post to keep checking because sometimes they get more in.
Well since then I have built a few more and the only one I have trouble with is the 30br,I just can't get a stock that feels right(have tried 3).Long story short after many searches and going back to Numrich numerous times when checking yesterday they had them in stock again. Needless to say there is one on it's way here as I type. Hopefully my search for the stock on this rifle is over or it gets turned into a 308.

If the link works this is the stock. I just saw that quantities are LOW again,it may be that like the last time there was only 2 of them.

Thanks, have you ever shot it off a bipod on the ground? If so, how well did you like it?

Never shot it off a bipod. With my back I would never get up.
Off a rest it is a constant .25 @100, rides the bags well.

Well I pulled the 30br out of the safe and mounted it up today and it was a perfect fit. With the varmint contour I didn't even have to sand the barrel channel at all(2 dollar bills with room to spare).
I will get it out this weekend and see how it goes if it works out it stays a 30 if not it becomes a 308,it was done for 150-155 gr. bullets with a 12 twist and 22" long.Hopefully the $$ trail is done for this one.
When the camera shows up I will post some pics. Will even throw one or two in with it's sister(223).
