Savage "beefed up" some of the bolt parts for the 338 Lapua models. Can't remember if it was the front baffle or the bolt head (or both) they made thicker for stronger lugs. I also know they've made some changes to the "magnum" bolt assemblies as well in regards to the length/thickness of the lugs, but that was a few years before the Lapua was even a twinkle in Ron Coburns' eye. As such, your best bet would be to call Savage since there aren't to many 110BA or LRH .338 Lapua owners around here that may be able to compare parts with their other rifles for you.

I wonder if you could just buy a whole other bolt assembly and use it in that receiver? Might be easier if the bolt and head parts aren't exactly the same on the 338 action. I would think you could get a magnum bolt assembly and put it right in and it would work.
