I have a 112bvss in a .223 Remington. It came with a 1x9twist barrel so I have been trying to force feed it 69 gr and smaller bullets.

Today I was shooting some 75 gr Hornady BTHP's through my AR with a tighter twist barrel. I figured I would see what the Savage would do with these heavier bullets.

Wow! I am happy. Real Happy.

This is only a three shot group, but still tells me all I need to know. This barrel will shoot 75 gr bullets!! BTW, this is a 200 yard target.

Only shoot 75 grain A-Max's in my 1:9. Still stable at 600.

24.0gr Varget with the 75 HPBT...2885fps from my 26" 12FV barrel with Lapua brass, and excellent (sub-half MOA) accuracy.

That was the exact load I was using. I loaded up a handful to test out a different primer and figured I would run some through the Savage. I was using Lake City brass....(go figure that out) CCI SR primers had been getting flattened out, so I deceided to try Remington SR Bench Rest primers. Looks like they work ok. The AR shot a 0.150 MOA group at 100yds with this same load.

Ditto on a good load.

25.0 H4895, CCI 450, RP brass, and Sierra or Nosler 69 gr HPBT's work rather well. I shot as close as I ever will....one hole group with that combo.
