so i have bought a savage 110 tactical in 300wm..i have added a leupold mark 4 and a bipod..also put a timney trigger in it..it seems like i cant find a dam thing to fit this gun.. any body out there that has on of these and had any luck finding a nice stock for this gun..i really like the bell carlson varmit/tactical stock. every thing i find is for a short action..my plan is to find a nice stock then have the action trued.. is it worth it??? or should i start with some thing else and leave this gun the way it is?? im just shooting paper and would like to eventulay start shooting at the 600 yard range if i can hold the gun still..

i live in florida and was wondering if any one was from around here and had a good gun smith that has some experince with this gun that would be willing to help me???

thanks for any info you can help me with.

A big welcome to the Savage forum!

Just an oberservation turned question:

How's your cheek weld with that scope height???

I don't get along well without serious cheek weld.

ya that scopes a little high but its not to bad.. when i get a new stock i would like to check it and maybe swith to a rail type mount..
i like that tactical stock at stockade. looks pretty nice.. if i can get a nice stock and have it bedded and accurized the action i think i might be in good shape.. is this where i should start or is there some thing else to help the performance..i shoot 1inch groups at 100 yards but looking to tighten that up..im also thinking about adding some weight to the stock or adding a brake to help with some recoil..thanks again.

I too have a heavy barreled 300 win Savage. It shot so phenomenally well I had McMillan build me an A5 stock for it. Topped with a 6.5x20 MKIV Leupold.

The A5 is a pretty decent stock.

Edited to add: The 300 yard targets that day averaged .96" with 185 grain Lapua Scenars. Kinda blew my avg out with one group but still not a bad average for a belted magnum. Same ammo averaged .39 at 100 yards.
