Hey all.
I have decided to mag feed my Edge and make it a repeater. The company that offers the bottom metal I need offers a set-up to feed up to the big 3.85 COAL's. They have two magazines at that size optimized for the .338LM and the .300MW. I have perused ammoguide to look at the parent case sizes, but not sure which magazine to get for my .338 Edge rounds. Any ideas??

If they are like the AI mags the .338CIP mags for the Lapua will work, but make sure they don't have forward ribs, and they won't give the OAL you want. I had to cut mine back to 3.755" from the 3.785" suggested on the DE site. I had to take the ribs on mine out and I did a really poor job with the Dremel. Kyle at XLR Industries says AI makes em without the ribs, or if you buy an AI mag from him and they do have a front rib he will mill it out for free(found that out after I already did mine!). Not sure about a 300WM mag as I don't one. I have not noticed any difference in accuracy(only in the 100yd testing stage though) between the mag length and the 3.785" rounds.

Accurate-mag is releasing a bottom metal set up for the 110 long actions (5.062 spacing) that takes the new CIP length mags (3.850). Are these the ones you are using (AI CIP) and still had to back off to 3.755?

I am using an Accuracy International .338 Lapua CIP mag. I am guessing yours is something different. Wow, 3.85 is really long! The Defensive Edge site only shows 3.785 for their OAL and that is long!

I'm only running 3.785 as DE suggests...I trust Shawn and his research. These must be proprietary mags made by accurate-mag themselves to give that COAL. I've got a 3.850 bottom metal set-up on the way, so we should know by the weekend how it looks.

That would be nice to shoot the longer OAL, but as long as the shorter shoot well, it won't be a big deal. Shoot a pic of yours once you get it.
