Hello,

I bought a new Savage Axis 308 and order a 4x16x50 scope for it. I'm having problems getting it mounted right. I think I need to either get a rail base or some rings that are at an angle so they can by mount in the middle of the scope.

I was going to post a photo of it but I can't seem to figure that out right now.

Any help would be great.

Thank you,
Thomas

Here are the photos. As you can see the scope rings are to far back and forward.

Try the EGW rail for your Axis. You may need some new rings but this rail will help you out. They make a great product, I'm very happy with their rail that I put on my Mark II.

I had the same problem mounting my 6.5-20x50 scope.

A pair of Weaver 402 bases are what you need (402M for black). They mount where the stock bases are mounted but put the slot for the scope ring behind (or ahead of) both screws rather than in between... $5 each...
