New Load

Anyone have a working load for a 90 gr. Berger BTHP for a .223. I have tried 4 different loads so far and not even close yet. So will start on another one or 2 tomorrow. So any help would be great.

I hope you have a 1:7 twist barrel, otherwise, you might not be able to stabilize that particular bullet.

Good point.... 1:7 is the only way to handle this bullet. I'm working some loads with this bullet and Power Pro 2000.

Let us know how you do. My 223AI barrel is 1 in 8 twist so the heaviest I shoot is the Berger 80gr VLD.

Barrel is a 1/9 but I can shoot the 80 gr. bullets. Can almost shoot the 90's but have anywhere from a 3 to 5 inch group. So I am going to wait till I shoot this sucker out then order a 1/7 so it will give me more of an option as to what bullets I can shoot. Thanks for the info guys. Kurt

There isn't a lot of difference in performance between the 80 and 90 grain bullets. How well do the 80s group in your 1/9 barrel?
