Target action questions

On the savage target actions can you load a long action caliber into a Savage short target action? Since there is no mag I figured it would work as I know you can hand load long action calibers into short actions on a standard short action.

Yes, but I'm sure you realize you need to pull the bolt to remove a loaded round that has not been fired.
