I am working on my uncle's Savage. His came with a really soft extended buttplate. It's so thick that it increased the length of pull so much that it makes eye relief on his scope uncomfortable. I took the plate off mine and secured it with one screw since the screw spacing on my older Savage is different and it made the eye relief just right. We are looking for a standard buttplate for his Savage 116FXP3 with plastic stock (not accustock). I checked Brownell's and Midway, but they didn't list factory buttplates.

Does anyone know where I can find one?

Thanks,
Tony.

Try Numrich Gun Parts Corp. If they don't have a butt plate, no one will.

How about making one from a piece of hardwood 1/4" thick. Something like zebra wood would look good.

Yeah, I'm thinking that may be what we have to do. For now, we are just going to cut the soft rubber shorter until we find a more permanent solution.

Thanks,
Tony.
