Not that about anything you put in a 7Mag wouldn't drop an Eastern White Tail, but was wondering if anybody has a 7Mag load using a Savage barrel. I have a number of powders available, but was thinking of H1000, or RL17, or RL22? I also was thinking of using a round nosed softpoint? Open for any good loads for a Savage 7Mag. Distance would be usually less than a hundred yards in these woods.

My 7 mag is a rem 700, but I shoot 154 gr hornady spire points with cci250 mag primer, 64 grains of RL22. This is not a max load, but I would suggest starting several grains lower and working my way up. Most accurate in my rifle. Have killed to many white tail deer to count, one elk and one mule deer. Have shot several in the leg and got them. Gut shot a doe one time running thru my woods at about 75 yards. Blew all intestines out the hole on the opposite side. Awesome killer. Bill
