Does anybody know how to talk Savage into making the 300 blackout on their new light wt. rifle? Part of the action next to the bolt head has been cut out and should allow for ejection. Think Effie would make one on special order?

The ones being purpose builtby AAC on the Remington Model 7 Action are going to be going for $900. I bet when released there will be a backlog/backorder situation for quite a while.

The custom shop might nibble on one in that price range... before a full model release occurs..

Definitely want the short barrel, threadeded preferred, and fast twist 1:8 or faster.. To match the uses for the round.

Maybe we could get a group buy going? I'd love one in 16" Medium contour and threaded.

Tell them that they have to One-Up AAC/Remington...

They used a Model 7 Action for this one......

Wouldn't a Winchester WSSM action be even better? I have no experience with Winchesters.

Do not want to hijack but I am wrapping up a 300 blk project and much to my surprise the 12 sporter action I bought for this project ejects empties just fine. I had assumed I would have to fight it but that is not the case.

"....Think Effie would make one on special order?"

Have you tried asking her?

If they don't currently chamber that caliber, the answer would be no.

D.ID How in the crap did you get it to do that? Have you shot it over 50 rds yet? What, if any, did you have to modify? You are just getting ahead of April's Fool - Right??? What if we sent her a reamer? From Dave Kiff of course!!!

No clue how or why. Like I said I was expecting to fight and fiddle with it but so far it is not a problem. That being said I am just starting load development and do not have many rounds out of it yet but hope to get it broke in this weekend in the afternoons in between morning and evening dear/bear hunts. I'll start another thread sometime next week to brag or complain about it.

223 action from northlander. Ran some more rounds threw it this weekend and it ejects just fine. feeds just fine if rounds are loaded to spec but even with 20 moa base it used up 45 of my available 80moa just to zero @ 100 which has me baffled especially since I could not get any reading over my chrono today even though the other rifles registered just fine a few minutes earlier. weather was bad, I will try again next weekend.

I am not familiar with that round. What is it and what is its purpose?

30 cal option for ar15 but it's true calling is slinging heavy 30 caliber bullets at subsonic speeds and low pressure for high efficiency sound suppression.

Thanks D.ID. Is it made from an existing cartridge, like a .223, etc. ?

yes. Same as the 300 wisper, originally and frequently made by reforming 221 fireball or 223 with allot of trimming. aac recently submitted the cartridge for standardization and remington started making ammo and brass. So it is one of those wildcats finally coming into it's own as a standard cartridge they are now calling the blackout.
