Does anyone have one of these or heard anything about them?

I read a good report in a LEO type mag, looks good!

I picked one up this week, got a Vortex Viper PST 6-24x50 for it, now just waiting on a set of the Vortex Precision Matched Rings that are due in Monday. Should be a lights out shooter, every Savage I've ever owned has been.

Very good, appears to be a super buy.

Wish this was offered in 338 RUM. Performance is near identical and the price of RUM brass is a LOT less.

Jealous party of 1.

No one near me has one to even look at.

I actually took a leap of faith in Savage, I ordered it in sight unseen knowing that the action and barrel would be their usual quality and if I hated the stock it was going to end up in a Manners or McMillan anyway. The stock feels cheap compared to my McMillan's but I expected that, after I get the optics mounted and take it out a few times I'll decide how quickly I'll replace it.

Wow, as my daughter says during commercials on TV, I want one!

I wonder if the bottom metal is the same size as a normal Savage long action bottom metal?

That stock is something I have been waiting for a long time, an HS long action stock.

If that stock will work with regular Savage long action bottom metal it should be easy to sell.

NICE, that HS is a good stock

And the end product, It looks like I need to swap the scope base for a lower one, those are low rings and the gap is still more than I would like. A Badger will fix that nicely.

That is really nice , looks like if you go lower the rail will hit scope

Took it out and zeroed it at 200 yds today, shoots extremely well considering the range I was at had since I was there last covered all the bench tops with a slick vinyl and there was no way in **** I could preload the bipod properly. Even so the final group was a hair under 1" for 5 shots at 200, quite acceptable. The stock isn't a McMillan or Manners, but its leaps and bounds better than the usual Savage tupperware, I actually think I may continue to use it until after the first of the year instead of replacing it ASAP. Over all I think its $1200 very well spent, Saturday I'll stretch its legs a little more and take it out to 500 yds, but that will be on steel so no groups to measure.

Any chance you could share maximum possible OAL that will fit in that magazine? Thanks

I haven't started loading for it yet as my dies aren't here yet but I have seen a few people say that 3.75 is the max OAL that will fit and cycle properly.

Assuming its the same AI type mag as the 110BA uses... ~3.770" max OAL

wow, thats awesome.im building one just like it. my problem is i cant find that stock anywhere. how do you like that viper scope,i hated the eye relief on mine. but its a pretty fair scope for the money.also dont expect great groups at close ranges.my 338 ultramag built on a remm 700 doesnt shine till 600 and beyond,at first i thought it was crap mine was shooting 3 inches at 200,then i shot at 500 it shrank, then at 700 smaller.finally 1000 yds we were getting 8.75 inches with 300 grers and a 101.5 shot of retumbo

Yes it is. I was trading emails with the engineer that designed this one... its about an inch shorter, and approx. 1/4 the weight of the one on the 110BA (and a slightly smaller outside diameter) but is supposed to provide a similar level of recoil reduction. The one on the BA... is almost like a muzzle *weight* (weighs about a pound by itself). But yes, they are threaded 5/8-24, a standard tpi for brakes and cans for .30 & .33 cal.
