I have a vintage 110L in 30-06. Not sure of the exact date of manufacture but the serial # is 19xxx so I'm guessing around 1960. Definitely before 1968 as there is no letter prefix to the serial #. I would like to convert to a magnum bolt head. Which one do I need?
Thanks,
Sam

The old style bolt heads are obsolete. To change to a current production bolt head, you will also need to change the bolt body and firing pin.

You'll also have to swap out the magazine to get rid of the standing ejector.

I was thinking of having the bolt face opened up but then realized it won't work. The old bolt face has an extra rim in front of the lugs that goes into a recess in the front of the barrel breech like a Remington. I guess I could use the bolt from my other newer 110 on this receiver with my barrel, or more practical would be to swap this fine old rifle for a newer one.
