Longer action screws

just got my boyds stock in and am trying to find some longer action screws for it. i know i can get them from savage but was wondering if there is anywhere else to find them

went to my local Ace Hardware and all they had for 1/4-28 were a regular hex head bolt

Call your local Fastenal or True Value, they should have the Allen style Hex screws, you will have to inlet them to the stock but they work just fine.

Check at Tractor Supply for 1/4-28 socket head bolts. Also, you can order them from McMaster-Carr.

you could always add pillars to the stock then counter sink into the pillar till you have enough for the bolt to grab onto. i did this to mine because i couldnt find any bolts locally that i liked enough to install so i drilled into the aluminum pillar with a half inch drill bit to about 3/8" depth or so.
