I have a 5 gallon bucket full of Lake City brass I picked up at an estate sale a while back and I want to do some reloads for the Axis I just picked up.

I was thinking of using a 150 or 165 gr. Spitzer over IMR 4064, between 47 and 50 grains and using the Lee Factory Crimp die. I did a search and couldn't find much on 30.06 loads. I'll mainly be shooting 100 yard targets and 200 yard matches with it.

Anybody with a 30.06 have better luck with one load over others?

My go to powder for 150-165 gr. bullets is IMR-4350. IMR-4064 is what I used in my Garands.
I've had good luck with both just like 4350 better.

I have used 165 Sie. Gamekings and Imr 4064 in several 06's over the years and was very satisfied. I also have used IMR 4350 and both were good . the Gameking shoots as good as there Matchking.

4064 will be super accurate, but 4350 will probably give more velocity. Ramshot Big Game does really well with 150s and Ramshot Hunter does great with 165-180s.

It was good enough for the U.S.Army..............150 grain bullet and 50 grains of IMR-4895 ball M2
