Im trying to decide if it is worth spending the money and time trying to bed the synthetic stock that my 111 came with. Its on the short list of things which Im confident is causing my rifle not to shoot under 1.3 inch groups at 100 yds. As I get two shots that are .6 apart then a flyer about .75 inches away or so.

its more likely your pencil thin barrel when it warms-up harmonic vibrations change, but I did bedded my 111, I can group 3 shots within 0.25 - 0.3" with it, but it was doing 0.5 before bedding it.

Short answer is yes - properly done, it can't hurt. Be sure to free-float the tang and ensure the barrel doesn't contact the stock.

You can find it most anywhere

Roughed up the area like crazy first. I mean really really chewed it up good. Taped the tang and barrel to locate height and used guide bolts with tape around them. Gotta work quickly, it starts to set up fast!

Turned out just fine.
