Has anybody on here built a Savage 375 or 416 Ruger? If so what do you think?

The .375 Ruger was designed specificaly for .30-06 length actions so on a long action I would say all you need is a proper size bolt
head, a new barrel and nut and recoil lug. Not sure about the .416. You may not get as many cartridges in the magazine for the .375, probably one less. Friend of mine has a .375 Ruger he took to Africa and loved the cartridge.

Can not say I built one on a savage but did build one on a rem 700. Personally had some feeding issues but went to a mag box and basically center feed and it's one of the best feeding rifles I own

Personally like the 375 over the 416 for range. Kind of depends what you want to use it for. I live in AK so pretty well suited here. Mine has taken a moose and a Kodiak brown bear. Overkill for the moose, ya, for the bear, maybe, but glad I had it and is my min now for the big bears. it's one of my favorite rifles. Recoil is decent, nice and slow compared to say a 300 with a 200 or 180, but plenty stout still. Effect on game is impressive, mine sports a 21 inch barrel pushing a 300 at around 2550,

No reason it would not build up fine in a savage, but be aware of potential feed issues. It's a fat case!

Was typing during that last post but ya, mag depth is a issue. Again mine is a 700 but in a ADL could only put 2 down! Went to a extended mag box and put a wyatts mag box. Gets me to three down. And really four but I bottom out the spring so typically stick to three

Again fun round 375 gives you range and will do pretty much whatever you want under 300. 416,,,, shot a buddies, more recoil, range shrinks, but if I was chasing dangerous game in Africa,,,or guided bear hunters it might be considered
