I've shot some 100 yard IBS shoots in factory class. I'm wondering if a savage built gun could compete in say varmint for score at 100 yards. I have a action trued by SSS, If I put it in a proper stock with a 30 BR barrel and a good trigger could it run with the built guns? Or would it really be a waste of time and money?

I know you need to be able to shoot 20+ x's to be in the running. Can a savage based gun come any where near this?

My Gun is a 30BR and it conforms to IBS/NBRSA light gun rules. (weighs in at 10.2 LBS with a tuner.) When I had a PPC barrel on it it would run with the Custom actions. I just screwed on a 30BR barrel, and even though I have shot a few .1 groups, I am having brass problems. So far I been having problems I keep getting weird flayers, so I keep shooting 49's round after round, with 2 and 3 X. I just got done talking to R.G. Robbinett and I think we have the problems ironed out. My hope is after I get a good FL die for it, and a smaller bushing it should run with the customs.

Run out is fine, I just dont have any tension on the bullet, once they are seated you can pull them out by hand.

Nope new brass, and it was anealed after necking up. I have just been using the wrong bushing.
