I'm hoping i can get more than one person to say it worked for them. The question is has anyone tried the 75gr amax on coyotes? I've read through the forums and people say they shoot well out of their guns with great accuracy. I bought this 223 with a 1-9 to utilize the heavier side of bullets. most shots i take on coyote are under 400 yards most at 1-200. I have been using 40gr hornady vmax in my r700 sps. Im just looking for a good bullet for coyote and pd. Taking 1k rounds of 69smks to south dakota only to punch a lot of holes in dogs didnt set well. I need a bullet that expands and performs. the 69s shoot 5 in the same hole at 100 but i dont want to wound a dog. Any suggestions or loads that work for you guys will be greatly appreciated. Id like to stay away from flat based bullets though if i can. Thanks in advance.

...All I use is Nos 50-55gr BT's with 26grs of Benchmark...I don't save pelts so I don't worry about the holes..lol.. ;)

thankya sir, i guess i will try the 55vmax or nosler in that range. i dont save pelt either mostly help out farmers and such. just bites hard that my 1-12 r700 will shoot 52smkhp's into one hole at 100 and i was hopin to stretch the legs on the ol 223 but i may just end up loadin both with a nice 50-55 and let it ride.

jesus murphy i have shot fox bigger than that by the way he looks you prolly coulda droped him witha pellet rifle bein half dead already lol. Mange is a bad deal. I've got sum pics but none with my sav. yet. Im in Indiana. so our coyotes/coydogs/imbreed wolves get pretty big. like stated before i just want the range out of my 223 without the expense of shootin a 250 or something like that. I've killed them with a .22 rimfire before what you lack in range on your weapon you better make up with in your hunting skills. lol I will say that i do tip my hat to coyotes, they are tough to hunt but what they go through and still survive. Very admirable creatures.

I shoot them out of my 1:9 223AI chambered off a factory Savage barrel. They kill coyotes just fine, usually leaving two holes.

I use the 68gr bthp match and they and the vmax have the same SD as the hunting bullets so yeah your 75gr well do the job on yotes.

well i have got to get some and experament with them i have over 1k loaded up with 69smks which shoot really well out of my gun like oe hole groups well. which is what im always striving for a 10shot string will open up the hole to 1/4" if you let the gun cool off and shoot conservatively but i have first hand experience with the 69s and pd's there is a severe chance of ricochets and ive heard they dont expand.... at all i have used the 52smks before with very good luck never lost a dog put shot placement is always important unless your huntin with an rpg ;D so like i said i just wanted to know if they fly well and shoot out of a factory 1-9 twist so ill buy some and start my experimenting.. thanks for all the replys fellas

55 vmaxx out of my Predator AR. ballistic tip gets them every time and i got 49 last year with 12 fox and 10 bobcats, all DRT. This year it's the same gun until i break in the new 10FP-LE .308 for dogs only. i only keep the tails unless it is a big dog from northern arizona....ours are very small compared to eastern dogs. bobs and fox get a face full of #4 buckshot.

Not all 1-9 barrels will stabilize the 75 Amax, but it's worth a try. I have 2 different rifles that will, but loaded single shot, as they were too long to function in the magazine. This allowed a max charge to get the most velocity possible, which helps stabilize the long bullet.

I use the 60grn VMax for yotes they go down fast and the round is very accurate in every 1-9 I have tried it in. Most "match" bullets have a very thin jacket and some will splatter on the dog rather than entering and expanding. Amax I am not sure of though.

the new 53 vmax have a better BC then the 60's, and with speeds near 3400, it has better drop and drift over a 69...

the 75 are nice as well... i have used them on goundhogs at 500

I'm gonna order 500 of the 52's and 500 of the 53's and see if I can get a load to work in all my guns well and utilize the same bullet thanks guys I'll be gettin rid of my 2 boxes of 75's prolly never gonna load them as they don't fit well in any mag and I'm all about keepin it simple
