The next day went out and played around with friends and got in the 1000 yard club. (16" dong)
Shooting 1000 yards with the load that is so light i had to adjust 21.5 moa on turret and hold on bottom of bdc that is 11 moa.





Those must be some kind of friends. I thought this was a family site.

That barrel will last forever with 46 grains of 4831SC too. Probably at about 2700 fps or so? Nice low pressure load and accurate load.

Funny I was thinking the same thing..46gr of H4831sc??? you should be in the 50.5-51.5 to reach the 2950fps mark. I did however have to move up to 53.0 to make that fps but then after new lot of powder, i was then back to 51.3gr like the other 4 guys I shoot against. seems like 51.0-51.3 is the magical node for this caliber.

On the flip side of things you shall get another 250-300 rounds or more than I. But I'm gonna drive it like it should too, If your gonna push it under 2850 fps, its no better than a .308 launching a 175smk.. Speed it up and beat the wind!!! You will love once you see the potential of the 6.5-284..

Ya you could speed it up but I havent saw a timer on a target yet. It likes berger bullets at 2850 so if you like big and slow go ahead. I have other 6.5 284 with 28" bull that shoots 3100 with retumbo and 142 SMK that all are in same hole. Some times things like it slow and some times they like it fast!!
