My little brother got his first deer rifle for Christmas this past year. I'm thinking of reloading the 95gr SST for him. What bullet / powder combination has worked for you?

I love the sierra 85 grn HPBT, with 43.5 grains of IMR 4350 and a winchester large rifle primer. Its doing 3260fps and is devastating on deer very seldom is there an exit hole but it goes in and destroys the vitals, like The Berger VLD's are known to do.

I like the 100gr SGK in front of 44gr. IMR 4831. Average of 3050 FPS with 1" or less groups @100yds. with my sons youth model 20" barrel (111). They work well and are priced right. I shoot them out of my .243 @ long range targets due to they're affordability.

I will be giving the Nosler 90gr. Accubonds a go when I can find them in stock somewhere. I can't afford to go the range a few times each monthh and shoot Accubonds all day, but I really want to get back to the bonded bullets for hunting. I think Nosler's 90gr. Accubond is going to be hard to beat. CD

Not a Savage, but my Vanguard loves the 95gr. Nosler BT. Near .5 MOA, and flat zaps deer.

My son and i are both running 85 gr tsx`s over a max charge of ramshot hunter (per barnes` loaing data). This load in both guns produce WELL under moa accuracy.
