I'm finally going to pull the trigger on an SSS stock. I'd like to see some full size examples of them.

Sorry to the Mods, it should be moved to the aftermarket stock area. My bad.

Actually it will probably be moved to the "picture post" section.

You will be happy with your SSS stock cause they are very nicely done, and already come with pillars installed. Lately there has been very long wait times due to them being backlogged, but they have quit advertizing so they could catch up so hopefully they have that somewhat under control now. Most custom stockmakers are gonna have a lengthy wait though, just make sure you find out in advance.

What style stock are you looking to get?

Anyway, I have 2 SSS stocks at the moment. Here's my HBR stock with 7 coats of auto clear on it, and I will take a pic of my other one later and post it then.

Oh, and here is another HBR stock in their "john deere" color that used to belong to another member here(ranjan1). It also has 7 coats of auto clear on it.

If you want something beefy for bench work these are really thick and weigh in a 6lbs for the stock alone.

I am getting the LVT. I was hoping to see some better shots, like you gave, of all the colors.

The other one I have is an LVT with the butthook, bipod rail, and adjustable cheeckpiece. It is now my favorite stock of all and you wont be sorry once you get it. I have the gun apart putting a new trigger in it and bedding it, but once I get it back together I'll snap some pics of it for ya.

Thanks. I am going with the LVT with all the bells and whistles. As far as color goes, I'm thinking black/green/brown.

This is my LVT in John Deere green. I use it with the front plate and shoot point blank with the 30BR and switch over to the 6BR for F-Class. I like it overall.

Luck, Tim

Tiny, I see that you don't have the butthook. Is there any reason to or not to get it? I was leaning toward it for esthetic reasons, however your LVT looks good without it. Could it help with using a rear bag while prone shooting?

Here's a pic of my HBR. It's the same one pdog has. These stocks are worth the wait. Fit and finish is excellent. Forgive the clarity in the pic, my blackberry doesn't take the best pictures. It really shines with the clear coat on it.

Thanks for the pics. Well. I pulled the trigger. I ordered the LVT with everything but the butthook. I even asked for a 1" recoil pad. Now I have "10-12 at least", as staed by Lisa, to decide on the finish. After 12 weeks I'm going to sound like a kid driving to Disney World. ARE WE THERE YET! ;D

Not a butthook fan. I don't think that style of stock would be allowed in short range benchrest in registrared NBRSA or IBS matches.

Luck with your LVT. Tim

My SSS LVT with bolt fluting and powder coating. Stock was fitted(action screw pillar holes were not correctly drilled) and finished by Joel Russo.

Thanks. What is the color of the LVT? What did you do to finish it? I only have about 11 weeks to go. ;D

The color is similar to the "Rust Camo" they show on their site, only this one has 3 colors instead of 4(no gray/black). The other side of this stock looks darker cause theres not as much brown showing, just more green and red.

It is finished in a matte finish of Tru-Oil. Usually all their stocks need to prep them is to final fit it to your barreled action(usually fits, but you wanna make sure), give it a final light sanding with 600grit sandpaper, blow it off, and apply the finish.

mmmmm these pics don't help! nah very nice I ordered some stuff before xmas but believe they were done last month. As I'm downunder the postage wait is now on although I haven't heard anything from Lisa after some emails. Hope they are just busy. Oh I ordered a dog tracker in Rose/Rose/Brown and my brother a dog tracker in natural. Can't wait, barrel and action off to smith next week fingers crossed!

"Cant wait". Sounds to me like thats all youve been doing... I'd be goin nuts by now if that were me...LOL... Of course I did wait almost that long for my Brux. It was a tough wait, but all in the rear view as of now... Hang in there.
